September 1st 2009 is a date that will never be forgotten because it’s the day Muhammad Ali came to town….the day the greatest sportsman of all time came home. The links between the town of Ennis and Muhammad Ali is no longer a story only known in Ennis. On September 1st we let the whole world into our secret. In the run up to the visit, the Production 63 team got together with our Ennis based media colleagues Moon TV and Edgecast Media to plan a production that would capture the atmosphere, the history, the joy and the celebration surrounding the visit and the historic elements associated with Muhammad Ali being the first person ever to be made a Free Man of Ennis. Our objective was to produce a record that would go deep into the community. We wanted to show the mood on our streets, in our hearts and in our eyes. We wanted to bring the emotion of the whole event and make it available to all Ennis people, Clare people and Ali fans all over the world. This is our first video podcast and we are delighted to bring you this 10 minute snapshot of Ennis’ happiest day.
