Production 63 was established in March 2007 . Based in Ennis, Co. Clare our objective was to utilise our experience in the entertainment and media business to host live events and produce a number of mainly studio based independent productions. We started by attracting live events of all kinds to Co. Clare and surrounding areas by conceiving ideas and creating opportunities. We have worked with great venues locally like Glor, The West County Hotel and Cois na hAbhna. At the outset the provision of quality live events was the main driving force of Production 63 and in a short time we have earned a reputation for doing just that.
Times have changed in the past 3 years and as we move forward we are conscious of the need to look at ways of utilising the company’s strengths and examine ways of harnessing our talents and matching them with opportunities that present themselves. In recent months we’ve had to make the decision to move away from producing our own live events as the economic downturn continues to impact on all aspects of life. This we hope is a temporary move. As we approach the end of 2009 we are working with a number of people in an advisory capacity and will be involved with some high profile events in 2010. The details of these exciting events will be announced in the coming weeks.
We have cultivated new contacts and skills and in recent times we’ve launched our on-line contributions by way of podcasting and video presentation which is great fun and offers great opportunities to bring new ideas and additional creativity to those we work with. We’ve also taken on a limited number of Marketing and PR campaigns and we’re enjoying our involvement with these.
Ger Sweeney
At present all of our studio based productions are being produced by Ger Sweeney. Since 1981 Ger has been working in the broadcasting industry and has earned a reputation as a true professional as a radio presenter/producer. He’s been described as a great ideas man and a great communicator who knows and understands his audience. He has also spent many years in the Marketing and Public Relations world which has proven to be invaluable as Production 63 progresses in a changing environment. As with his radio broadcasting his podcast productions always generate a laugh and the odd surprise.
